Working with Metadata
There are several ways to view and work with metadata in the Laserfiche Client and Web Access:
- The Metadata Pane of the Document Viewer. Displaying the Metadata Pane allows you to view and work with a document's metadata while you work with the document itself.
- The Metadata dialog box. You can open the Metadata dialog box from the Folder Browser in the Laserfiche Client or Web Access, or by clicking the Laserfiche Metadata button while working with a Microsoft Office document using Office Integration.
- Columns in the Folder Browser. You can configure columns to display information about an entry's fields and template, and to display whether the document has tags or document relationships, is a member of a link group, is under version control, or has been signed.
- Metadata search types. You can search by template and field, tag, document relationship or link group, version, or digital signature.
- Metadata information may be displayed automatically when performing tasks in your repository. For example, when importing or scanning a document, you will be prompted to provide metadata information about the new document.
