Users with sufficient security can delete entries. When you delete a document or a folder, you will also delete every shortcut to that item. However, deleting a single shortcut will not affect the corresponding document, folder, or other shortcuts.
Deleting a folder will also delete all of its contents.
If the recycle bin is active, deleted documents and folders will be moved to the recycle bin, an intermediary hold area. They will remain there until they are permanently purged or restored. (Shortcuts cannot be moved to the recycle bin. If a shortcut is deleted, it cannot be restored even if the recycle bin is active.) For information about reviewing, restoring, or purging entries in the recycle bin, see Recycle Bin.
If the recycle bin is disabled, deletion of documents and folders is permanent.

Note: A deletion progress bar will be displayed when deleting a document, allowing you to see the deletion progress and cancel the deletion. When a deletion is canceled, entries already deleted will remain deleted.
Note: Whether a deleted item is permanently deleted or instead moved to the recycle bin depends on whether the recycle bin is activated.
