Printing an Electronic File

You can print the electronic file (such as a Word document or PDF) associated with an electronic document from within Laserfiche, though you can only use the default printer and the default settings. To use a different printer or configure the print settings, open and print the file from the application used to view it.

Note: Some types of electronic files may not be printable. For instance, in most cases an audio file will not be printable, as it does not contain any visual content.

To print an electronic file

  1. From the Folder Browser, select the documents you want to print.
  2. From the File menu, click Print, or click Print from the toolbar.
  3. If the document has both an electronic file and image or text pages, you can select what you want to print from the document. From the Print what drop-down, select Electronic file to print the electronic file portion. (If the document only has an electronic file, this option will be grayed out.)
  4. Verify the printer and settings, and click OK to begin printing.

Note: You may be prompted to provide a reason for printing. See Reasons for Deletion, Export, and Printing for more information.
