Advanced Server Options: Maintenance

This tab, in the Advanced Server Options, lets you configure if and when old workflow reporting data, instance details, and messages will be deleted from the Workflow database. Periodically deleting this data will help reduce the size your database.

Important: To configure the frequency of database maintenance, use the Database Maintenance Server Timer. The options below are also available in the Database Maintenance Server Timer.

To configure maintenance options

  1. Select the Advanced Server Options node or any server details in the center Details Pane.
  2. Click Properties in the Actions Pane, or right-click and select Properties.
  3. Select the ClosedMaintenance tab of the Advanced Server Options dialog box.
  4. Configure which database maintenance tasks will occur:
  5. Warning: If you clear any of these options, the size of your SQL or Oracle database will continue to grow as new reporting data is added but no data is deleted.

  6. Define the following by typing a number next to each option or using the scroll box (up-and-down arrows) to specify a number:
  7. Click OK.
  8. Use the Database Maintenance Server Timer to configure how frequently database maintenance will occur.
