Moving to Quick Fields 9 from Earlier Versions

You can use sessions created in Quick Fields 6 or Quick Fields 7 by migrating the sessions into Quick Fields 9. Sessions can be migrated using the migration utility, from the command line, or by using Quick Fields 9 to open a session created in Quick Fields 6 or 7. Although sessions can be migrated from older versions, Quick Fields 9 contains new features and processes that can improve the efficiency or accuracy of your sessions. You may want to modify or rebuild sessions to take advantage of these features. To reflect these new and enhanced offerings, the terminology for some features that existed in some form in Quick Fields 6 or 7 has changed. For a list of major changes, see the Quick Fields 7 to Quick Fields 8.3 & 9 terminology guide.

If you are currently on Quick Fields 8, no migration is needed to upgrade to Quick Fields 9.0.
