Document Classes

A document class defines a set of documents that will all be processed in similar ways, which are determined by the stages of processing configured within the document class. When documents are scanned into Quick Fields, they will pass through these stages and be handled accordingly. During the Identification stage, Quick Fields determines whether an image matches the identification criteria you have defined for the document class. When a document is assigned to a class, the processes listed under Page Processing will be applied to the designated pages. The processes listed under Storage Processing will be applied when the documents are sent to Laserfiche.

You can rename the document class to reflect the type of documents it contains: e.g., "Applications" for a document class that contains college application forms. To change the name of the document class, right-click on the current name of the class and select Rename.

Note: The basic installation of Quick Fields supports a single document class per session. To use multiple document classes per session, purchase the Document Classification add-on.
