The Deskew image enhancement automatically straightens crooked images, which will help improve the results of OCR and other processes. It is meant to compensate for images that have been scanned at an angle.
To use Deskew
- Lines: Estimates using the degree by which lines run parallel to the corresponding image border.
- Angle: Estimates using the foreground (everything black on the black and white image, including lines, text, and pictures). Can be optimized for speed or accuracy.
- Text: Estimates using text. Text must run left to right.
Note: Because Deskew determines the orientation of the image by the arrangement of black pixels, it only works on black and white images. To convert a color image to black and white, use the Color Removal enhancement.
Note: Using Deskew may change an image's width and height. If so, the image will be resized to preserve all data.
