Effective Rights

To view the effective rights for a specific trustee

1. Select the entry you want to view rights on, and either right-click or open the Tools menu, and then select Access Rights.
2. Open the Effective Rights tab, and click Choose.

   Tip: If you want to view the rights for the trustee you are currently logged in as, they will already be displayed by default and you can skip to step 4.

3. From the Choose Trustee dialog box, select either Repository trustee or Domain account depending on the type of user you want to view effective rights for. For domain accounts, click Browseto open the Select User or Group dialog box.
4. Review the rights granted to the specified user.

To view the effective rights for a specific trustee

1. Select the entry you want to view rights on, and either right-click or open the Files menu, and then select Access Rights.
2. Open the Effective Rights tab, and click Choose.

   Tip: If you want to view the rights for the trustee you are currently logged in as, they will already be displayed by default and you can skip to step 4.

3. From the Choose Trustee dialog box, select the trustee whose effective rights you want to view.
4. Review the rights granted to the specified user.

The Choose Trustees dialog box allows an administrator to select a user, group, or Windows or LDAP account. After making the selection, that trustee account's effective rights for a previously selected document or folder will be displayed.

• Laserfiche trustee(s)
  • Select the type of trustees to display: If users, groups, domain accounts or all will be displayed under the Select a trustee option.
  • Select a trustee: The user, group, or domain account whose effective access rights you want to view.
    
• Domain account(s): Assign access rights to a Windows or LDAP user or group. The trustee can be located on your local machine or in your network's local directory.

The Select a trustee dialog box allows an administrator to select a user, group, or Windows or LDAP account. After making the selection, that trustee account's effective rights for a previously selected document or folder will be displayed.

• Find trustees whose names contain: To search for a particular trustee, type all or part of the trustee name and click Search.
  • To filter by particular trustee types, select Laserfiche Users, Laserfiche Groups, Domain Users, and/or Domain Groups.
• Trustee: Select the trustee whose effective access rights you want to view from the Trustee list.
