Digital Signatures Search

The Digital Signatures search enables you to search for documents that have been digitally signed, that have been signed by particular users or on particular dates or with a particular signing relationship, or that have not been signed by a particular user or by anyone.

Note: Digital signatures are only present in repositories that are licensed for them. If the digital signature search type is not available, your repository is not licensed to use digital signatures.

Note: This search type searches the user or organization name on the signing certificate, not the user name in Laserfiche.

To search for a digital signature

1. In the Search Pane, click Select a search type and select Digital Signatures from the menu. If it is not in the menu, click More... to open the Search Attributes dialog box to add it. You can also click More... next to Select a search type.

   Note: By default, the Digital Signatures search is in the Select a search type menu.

2. Select one or more of the following:

   • Find documents that have been signed: Either select By anyone to locate all signed documents or select By all of these users and type or browse to the certificate subject whose signature you want to search for. To include multiple users in your search, click Add, then browse to the additional user. To remove a user from your search, click the red X next to it. To clear all users, click Reset.
   • Find documents that have not been signed by: Either select By anyone to locate all unsigned documents or select By all of these users and type or browse to the certificate subject whose signature will not be on documents in the search results. To include multiple users in your search, click Add, then browse to the additional user. To remove a user from your search, click the red X next to it. To clear all users, click Reset.
   • Find documents signed: You can find documents signed on a specific date or select a date range for the digital signature you want to locate. See Created Search for more information on the date options.
   • Find documents with a signing reason containing: Type the reason for the digital signature you want to locate.
3. Click Search.
