Exporting a Contents or Search Results List

A list of all items in the current folder or search results can be exported. It will contain all information currently displayed in the Contents Pane details view, in the order displayed. Each individual listing will be a single line in a comma-separated values (.csv file). The first line identifies the labels of the column headers in the Contents Pane.

To export list information

  1. Open the folder whose details you want to export or perform a search to produce the search results you want to export.
  2. From the File menu, point to Export, and select List Contents.
  3. In the Choose a File for Export dialog box, under Save in, select the drive and folder where the list information will be saved.
  4. Under File name, specify the name that will be assigned to the exported file.
  5. Click Save to export the list information.

To export list information

  1. Open the folder whose details you want to export or perform a search to produce the search results you want to export.
  2. Select List Contents or Search Results from the Export menu.
  3. In the Export List Contents dialog box, select how the values should be separated. You can choose between comma and tab.
  4. Click OK and save the file to your hard drive.
