Determining How Images and Text are Printed

When printing images and text, you can choose to include annotations or search hits on the printed page, as well as whether an image will appear in its original size or will be scaled so the entire printed area fits on the printed page.

Redactions

Image/text redactions can be handled in three different ways. You can choose to exclude them from the print job, print redactions as highlights, or secure the redacted content on the printed page. The first two options are only available if you have been granted the ability to see content hidden behind redactions in the document being printed. If redacted content is secured on the printed page, the corresponding portion of the image or the redacted characters will be hidden behind either a black or white rectangle.

Sticky Notes

If you include sticky notes when printing an image, a representation of a sticky note will be printed wherever a sticky note is positioned on the image. Each note will be numbered sequentially in the order it appears in the document. An additional page containing the sticky notes' text numbered accordingly will be printed.

Other annotations

All other annotations will print exactly as positioned on the image and/or text.

Search hits

Search terms found in the document will be highlighted on the printed document.

To configure print options

  1. In the Print dialog box, click Options to display the Print Options dialog box.
  2. Select or clear the checkbox corresponding to each type of annotation to include or not to include on the printed page.
  3. Select Search hits to include the highlighted terms on the printed page, or clear it to exclude the search highlights.
  4. Select Choose paper source by page size to allow Laserfiche to automatically select the most appropriate page size for printing, if more than one paper source is available. Optionally, select the maximum paper size you want to use to print.
  5. In the Image size drop-down, determine whether you would like to print images in their actual size or if you would like to scale them so each one fits on a single printed page.
  6. Click OK.
