Options - General

In the General node of the Laserfiche PhotoDocs Options dialog box, you can configure general options for the behavior of the PhotoDocs interface and how it will deal with documents.

Navigation

You can determine what will be displayed in the Document Properties Pane when a document is selected in the Workspace.

Compression

By default, pages created in PhotoDocs will be stored in the lossless format TIFF-LZW. Using JPEG compression instead will reduce the file size of the pages, but may result in some loss of quality. You can choose whether to use JPEG compression and specify the balance of compression and quality to use.

Note: If your image was originally or has been converted to black and white, this option will have no effect.

To enable JPEG compression

  1. Select Use JPEG compression.
  2. Use the slider to determine the balance of quality and file size. Higher quality images will have larger file sizes, and lower quality images will have smaller file sizes. Again, for the highest image quality, clear the JPEG compression option altogether so PhotoDocs will use TIFF-LZW format on color images.

Manage Keyboard Shortcuts

From the Options dialog box, you can manage the keyboard shortcuts for the main PhotoDocs window. Click Manage keyboard shortcuts to get started.

Note: Keyboard shortcuts for the Image Editor can be adjusted from the Image Editor.
