OCR
The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) process converts text in an image into text that can be searched and edited on a computer. Most of the other processes in PhotoDocs are designed to improve the results of the OCR process on photographs. The OCR Settings Toolbar is a branch of the Process Toolbar. You can use this toolbar to configure settings designed to improve the results of OCR on your images.

- OCR: Convert text in an image into searchable, editable text.
- Language: You can specify a language, so the OCR process will be optimized to recognize the characters of that language.
- Optimization: You can specify an optimization style: Speed, Standard, or Accuracy. The Speed setting is designed to run quickly on very clean images. The Accuracy setting is designed to be accurate even on less clear images, but takes longer to run. Standard mode is in between.
- Decolumnize: The decolumnize setting converts two or more columns of text into one long column.
