Viewing a Repository

To view information stored in Laserfiche, open a Laserfiche repository. If a repository has been previously created, you should see the desired repository on the Laserfiche Start Page. If you don't see a Laserfiche repository, contact your Laserfiche administrator.

The ClosedLaserfiche Start Page provides a list of Laserfiche repositories.

To open a Laserfiche repository

  1. From the Laserfiche Start Page, select the repository containing the information you want to view.
  2. If your Laserfiche administrator has instructed you to access the repository using your Windows user account, ensure the Use Windows authentication check box is selected. Otherwise, this check box should be cleared.
  3. Click Open or double-click the desired repository.
  4. If security has been enabled on the selected repository and you chose not to use Windows authentication, the ClosedLogin dialog box will prompt you to specify a user name and password. After you have entered the appropriate information, click OK.

  5. Note: If you are logging in using an LDAP account (such as your Novell user account), you will need to provide your LDAP user name in the format "Common Name@ServerProfile". For example, if your account name is "John Smith" and your server profile (set by your administrator) is "MyCompany", you would type "John Smith@MyCompany". You will then need to type your LDAP account passwod in the Password option.

  6. After logging in to the repository, the ClosedFolder Browser will display the contents of the root folder of the selected repository.

Note: If you log in using an SSL secured connection, a yellow locked icon will appear in the bottom right. Double-clicking this icon will provide you with information about your certificate that may be useful for administrators or for troubleshooting purposes. See the Administration Reference for more information.
